RRAC Updates

The indoor season is nearly over, and while many archers see shooting indoors as just a way to keep the muscles working and the bow arm strong there has been agood sprinkling of club members competing at various indoor events throughout the chilly weather, as well as making good use of the Wednesday evening ssessions at Richmond College and the occasional Sunday at Quick’s indoor range.

There has been some activity out of doors during the winter, with fun shoots and the notorious King’s Walk shoot which is disconcertingly tricky due to its ‘one arrow per end’ format and its unique target. The cold and damp didn’t stop more than 20 people shooting, and then enjoying some great soup and fantastic crepes in the clubhouse afterwards.

One last flourish for the indoors season is a new trophy event for this year: the FITA 18 Challenge.  5 dozen arrows at 18m onto a 40cm target face (or a triple face for compounds). This will be shot over a few dates to allow as many people as possible to compete.  Dates remaining are 20th March and 3rd april (both at Quicks) and both dates MUST be booked in advance. Let Justin Wells know that you want your score to be recorded for the trophy,  and best of luck!

The outdoor season proper starts very soon. The Pagoda Shoot is on April 17th, and we will have our opening shoot and EGM (some food and drinks will be on offer too) on the 10th April.
